Engaging the Media is one of the most crucial aspects of any public relations and publicity campaign. The Media have to be in the know of the event long before the event even begins, this is important in trying to gain their support.

It is absolutely necessary to lobby for support from the Media long before an event begins. It’s too late to try and win their support when the event is about to begin, by then negative reports may have already appeared in the Media.

It has always been our practice to meet the Media several months before an event. The popular belief that just taking the Media out for lunch and drinks will win them over is a myth, they must be engaged in a coordinated and professional manner
